Glazd, Inc., a Wisconsin corporation (the “Glazd” or “we”), recognizes the importance of keeping your personal information private. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to describe to you the types of information we may collect or that you may provide when you download, install, register with, access or otherwise use the Site (as defined below) and how the Glazd collects, uses, and shares that information about you.

By using websites owned or operated by the Glazd, including but not limited to, www.glazd.com, and/or downloading, registering with or using the related mobile applications, including but not limited to Glazd Insurance (such websites and mobile applications are collectively referred to as the “Site”), you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not download, register with, or use this Site.

The Interactions this Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies only to information we collect at and through the Site, and related electronic communications.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to any website owned or operated by or communications sent by any third party, even if such third-party website or communication links to the Site or if the Site or communication contains links to the third party website. Please pay attention when you leave the Site and read and understand the privacy statements of those third-party websites or other mobile applications that may also collect your personal information.

How We Collect Information and Types of Information We Collect

User Provided Information

Certain features on the Site enable users to provide Glazd with certain personal information that we may use to contact or identify you.  Such information may also be provided directly to insurance carriers to quote your insurance. This information may include, but is not limited to, identifiers (e.g. first and last name, date of birth, social security number, driver’s license information, e-mail address, phone number, facsimile number, mailing address and IP address), billing address, leasing address and other information, credit card information, other payment information, Glazd name and position or title, other commercial information (e.g., records of products or services purchased from Glazd), claims information, default information, and internet activity (e.g., information on your interactions with the Site).

We may collect this information directly from you when you provide it to us and automatically when you use the Site, including but not limited to when you:

  • Visit the Site;
  • Download the Site;
  • Create an account at our Site;
  • Inquire about our products;
  • Place an order or otherwise carry out transactions on our Site;
  • Sign up for email updates;
  • Request support;
  • Provide feedback regarding your experience on our Site;
  • Request information about our promotions and advertising on our Site; or
  • Participate in a marketing survey, promotion or event.

If you access and use the Site, regardless of whether you create an account, purchase any products or otherwise interact with the Site, Glazd collects certain details of your access to and use of the Site, including the location you are accessing the internet from, the date and time you visited and other communication data and resources that you access and use on the Site, to among other things, tell us which parts of the Site you visit and how long you spend there.

We may also collect information about your mobile device, computer and internet connection, including the device’s unique identifier, IP address, operating system and Web browser, mobile network information and the device’s telephone number. The Site also may access metadata and other information associated with other files stored on your device (whether computer or mobile phone). Your email also contains metafiles that may contain IP addresses, domain names, and other standard file information and this information may be retained electronically on our servers or in routine back-up files.

The Site may also collect personal information from you about a third party (e.g., the Site might allow you to send an email or message to a friend, in which case we will need that person’s name and email address).

Cookies, Web Analytics and Other Tracking Technology

Cookies.Glazd may use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies or scripts to store certain information when you interact with the Site.  We use these technologies to enhance your experience in using the Site, improve the Site and provide customized services and information.  Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to your computer’s or smartphone’s memory and hard drive when you visit certain websites.  Some cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser (“temporary cookies”), while others can be stored longer on your computer or smartphone, sometimes until you delete them manually (“persistent cookies”).  For example, we may use cookies to collect information about Site activity or to tell us whether you are an existing or new visitor to our Site.  If you do not wish to accept cookies from the Site, you may configure your web browser or smartphone so that it does not accept cookies; however, you may lose certain functions available on the Site.  To learn more about cookies, please visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.

Web Analytics. We use web analytics tools, including, but not limited to, Google Analytics, which is a third-party service that transmits Site traffic data to Google servers in the United States. Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.  We use reports provided by Google Analytics to help us understand Site traffic, and Site usage. For more information concerning Google Analytics and how it collects and processes data please see “How Google Uses Data When You Use Our Partners Web Sites or Apps” located at www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners. We use the information provided by these tools to improve our services and our online advertisements. These tools place session and persistent cookies in your browser and smartphone to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit our Site. Each cookie cannot be used by anyone other than the service provider (ex: Google Analytics). The information collected from the cookie may be transmitted to and stored by these service partners on servers in a country other than the country in which you reside, including the United States.

Log Files. Our servers automatically record certain information (e.g., web request, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser language, URLs, etc.) that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site. We use this information for statistical purposes that help us design and administer the Site.

Use and Sharing of Information

We want to provide you with the best possible experience on our Site. In order to do this, we use information that we collect from you or that you provide to use, including personal information, to:

  • Provide you with customer service;
  • Customize our product and service offerings to you;
  • Process and track your orders;
  • Obtain and make payments;
  • Provide the products and services you request;
  • Send you promotional offers we believe will be of interest to you;
  • Provide you information concerning products or services you have purchased;
  • Send you email updates;
  • Answer your questions;
  • Identify your product and service preferences;
  • Customize our communications to you;
  • Improve our customer service;
  • Provide, maintain and improve our Site;
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage and activities in connection with the Site;

  • Otherwise provide you with the Site and its contents; and
  • Engage in other activities in the normal course of operating an insurance agency.

We may also disclose your personal information to our third-party service providers, including, but not limited to, service providers that help us market our products and services, deliver our products, process orders, perform market research, promotions management and otherwise assist us in running our business.  For example, if you submit information through the Site, Glazd will share such information with Glazd’s insurance carriers to obtain/provide customized insurance quotes and Glazd will share such information with Glazd’s payment card processing service provider so you can pay the premiums for any bound insurance policies.

Glazd may share personally identifiable or other information with our parent, subsidiaries, divisions, and affiliates. 

When someone visits the Site, our web server’s third party-tracking tool may automatically gather information that allows the Site to communicate with the visitor’s computer during the visit. We also may use any of the following information: the number of visits to the Site, which parts of the Site visitors select, IP address, domain type, browser type (e.g., Apple Safari, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Internet Explorer) and date and time of day. We use this information for statistical purposes that help us design and administer the Site. Those types of information do not disclose personally identifiable information that would permit us to identify or locate individual visitors.

Additionally, we may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) satisfy applicable law, a legal order or comply with legal process; (b) defend the rights of Glazd’s or its affiliates or business partners; (c) detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, (d) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Glazd employees, agents, affiliates, business partners, customers or Site users, or (e) to enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including any end user license agreement, and for billing and collection.

If the ownership of all or substantially all of our business changes or we otherwise transfer all or part of our assets relating to our business or the Site to a third-party, such as by merger, acquisition, bankruptcy proceeding, joint venture, partnership or otherwise, we may transfer or sell your personal information to the new owner. In such a case, unless you agree differently or unless otherwise permitted by applicable law, your information would remain subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this privacy policy.

Except as set forth in this policy, Glazd will not sell your personal information to any other organization unless you expressly agree to it (typically by checking a box indicating your consent).

Other Websites

Please be aware that our Site and email communications may contain links to other websites on the Internet that are owned and operated by third parties. The information practices of those websites linked to our Site are not covered by this Privacy Policy and, therefore, we are not responsible for the content or privacy policies of websites to which our Site links. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of other websites to understand their privacy practices.

Glazd may be active on social media pages, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter, and Glazd may integrate social media widgets or features on the Site. These social media companies may recognize you and collect information about your visit to the Site, and they may set a cookie or employ other tracking technologies. Your interactions with those features are governed by the privacy policies of those companies. Glazd may display targeted advertising to you through such social media platforms. Such social media companies have interest-based advertising programs that allow Glazd to direct advertisements to users who have shown interest in our products when you visit a social media platform. These advertisements are governed by the privacy policies of those social media companies that provide them.

Any information you submit in a public forum (e.g. a blog, chat room, or social network) can be read, collected, or used by us and others, and could be used to personalize your experience. You are responsible for the information you choose to submit in these instances. Though we do attempt to monitor user-posted content, such user-posted material is not subject to this Privacy Policy.

Aggregated Data

Glazd may take personal and business information and aggregate data so that it is no longer identifiable. Glazd may use this information to enhance the features of its Site and services. Glazd may also sell or license this aggregated information to third parties or publish the information. Glazd will take reasonable precautions to ensure that such aggregated information does not contain any confidential or otherwise identifiable data that could be used to identify its source.

Access to Your Information

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information in certain circumstances. You can review and change your personal information by logging into the Site and visiting your account profile page.  You also have the right to withdraw any consent you have given Glazd to process your personal information. If you have questions about the personal information Glazd has about you, need to modify, access or delete your information, or want to withdraw your consent for Glazd to process your personal information, you can contact us at the email address provided below. Note, it may not be possible to delete your personal information except by also deleting your user account. Lastly, we may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

You can opt-out of receiving marketing and promotional e-mails from Glazd by using the opt-out or unsubscribe feature contained in our emails.

Security Measures

We maintain technical, administrative and physical measures designed to protect your personal information from accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. Do not to share your password with anyone.

However, since no method of Internet or mobile platform transmission is 100% secure, Glazd cannot guarantee, ensure or warrant the security of your personal information transmitted through the Site. Although we will use reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of any visitor or other personal information collected, we shall have no liability for disclosure of your information obtained due to errors in transmission or through the unauthorized acts of third parties. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk.

Storage of Personal Information

We will keep your personal information until you contact us and tell us to modify or delete it from our servers or until we determine that the personal information is no longer needed to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. Glazd will also retain and use your personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect our assets, and enforce our agreements.

Transfer of Personal Information

Glazd is based in the United States and our Site is designed for users from the United States.  Any information collected through the Site or electronic communications as described in this Privacy Policy will be stored and processed in the United States. The United States is not recognized as having adequate safeguards. If you are located outside of the United States, please note that we may transfer information, including personal information, to a country and jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction, and you consent to the transfer of information to the United States.

Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Children are not encouraged to use the Site and we request that children under the age of 13 not submit any personal information to the Site. Since information regarding children under the age of 13 is not collected, we do not knowingly distribute personal information regarding children under the age of 13.

Changes and Updates to this Privacy Policy

If you choose to visit our Site, your visit and any disputes over privacy are subject to this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time without notice except as otherwise provided here. Please check back periodically to see if our Privacy Policy has been updated. Your continued use of the Site constitutes your agreement to the terms of this Privacy Policy and any future versions of this Privacy Policy.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, this Privacy Policy, and Glazd’s collection and use of personal information, shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Wisconsin, without giving effect to any choice or conflict of laws provision or rule.

Any legal suit, action or proceeding arising out of, or related to, this Privacy Policy, and Glazd’s collection and use of personal information, shall be instituted exclusively in the federal courts of the United States or the courts of the State of Wisconsin, in each case located in the City of Madison. You and we waive any objection based on lack of personal jurisdiction, place of residence, improper venue or forum non conveniens in any such legal suit, action or proceeding.

California Consumers

If you are a California resident, you have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and we want to provide you with the following additional information about the purpose for which we use each category of personal information we collect (as defined by CCPA), the categories of third parties to which we disclose personal information for a business purpose or for cross-context behavioral advertising, which includes our use of third-party analytics services and online advertising services. Glazd will share your information with the insurance carrier to provide you with a quote and to issue you an insurance policy. 

Specifically, your contact information (such as email) or internet network and device information (such as cookie data and IP address) may be disclosed to online advertising and analytics partners. You have the right to opt out of the disclosure of your personal information for purposes of online advertising and related activities and can do so by emailing [email protected]

California “Shine the Light” disclosure

The California “Shine the Light” law gives residents of California the right under certain circumstances to opt out of the disclosure of certain categories of personal information (as defined in the Shine the Light law) with third parties for their direct marketing purposes, or in the alternative, that we provide a cost-free means for consumers to opt out of any such disclosure. We do not currently disclose your personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

If you reside in California, we are required to provide additional information to you about how we use and disclose your information, and you may have additional rights with regard to how we use your information. We have included this California-specific information below.

Consistent with the “What Personal Data does Glazd collect?” section above, we collect certain categories and specific pieces of information about individuals that are considered “Personal Information” in California. As detailed above in the “How does Glazd collect Personal Data” section, we may collect this Personal Information from you and other third parties. We collect, share and disclose Personal Information for the business and commercial purposes described above.

We do not “sell” or “share” your Personal Information, as those terms are defined under California law and have not done so in the previous twelve months. Given the divergent practices of organizations that offer browsers and the lack of a standard in the marketplace, we do not respond to Do Not Track signals at this time.

Subject to certain exceptions, as a California consumer, you have the right to: (i) access your Personal Information and (ii) obtain deletion of your Personal Information. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may be required to retain some of your Personal Information, and certain Personal Information is strictly necessary in order for us to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Should you wish to request the exercise of your other rights as detailed above with regard to your Personal Information, we will not discriminate against you by offering you different pricing, products or services, or by providing you with a different level or quality of products or services, based solely upon this request. Please contact us as described above to exercise such rights.

If you are a California consumer and you wish to exercise your rights as outlined in this section, you may need to provide information such as name and e-mail so that we can verify your identity. We will use the information you provide when exercising your rights for no other purpose other than to verify your identity.  

You also have the option of designating an authorized agent to exercise your rights on your behalf.  For authorized agents submitting requests on behalf of California residents, please contact us as described above, with any evidence you have that you have been authorized by a California consumer to submit a request on their behalf.
